About the Item

This Agile Metrics Calculator provides some of the most popular measurements used in agile and hybrid environments. These tools can be used as is, or built upon to support more complex programs, projects, and teams. This enhanced version includes requirement and defect analysis tools.

Requirement Analysis: These metrics will help product owners and project managers determine how well teams are estimating and decomposing their requirements. Analyzing these metrics holistically will provide insight on how thorougly your teams understand the requirements being fed into development.

Defect Analysis: This analysis provides a comprehensive view of the defects being found in your product. It provides insight on the number and severity of the defects coming in, and how quickly these defects are being resolved. Understanding defects is critical to understanding quality as it relates to your product.

Burndown Chart: Displays the amount of work completed over time. It allows the user to visualize how close they are to completing all of the tasks that were committed to.

Velocity: Tracks the consistency of a team's estimates over time. The chart graphs the amount estimated against the amount actually completed. Velocity helps managers visualize how accurate a team's estimates are, how consistently they work, and how good they are at keeping comittments.

Defect Count: This straightforward defect chart displays the number of defects opened and closed for each time period specified. This chart notifies managers of spikes in defect creation and closure over time as a basic quality indicator. Defect count charts can be elaborated on by adding segmentation by severity and areas or components impacted.

Cycle Time: Calculates the mean time needed to complete a single work item. This helps track the consistency of a team's delivery performance and can serve as a leading indicator for such. Cycle times can be elaborated to segment tasks by category, or expanded to calculate entire release cycles as an organizational performance measure.

Cumulative Flow: Shows how much work aggregated by type is allocated to your team over time. It helps identify bottlenecks when a certain type of task is increasing faster than the others.

Earned Business Value: Displays how much of the anticipated business value has been delivered to date. Has enough value been achieved? Is enough focus being placed on the highest value features?
